Dear Prayer Supporters,
Spring is here! Flowers have bloom and people are out enjoying the weather in Virginia. The beauty of God’s creation. It reminded of the verses in Matthew 6:28-31, “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin… If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today or tomorrow… will he not much more clothe you. So, do not worry”.
It is a windy April. Pastor Moses who is an Indian joins our street evangelism on Wednesdays. He is the pastor of an Agape church in Chantilly. Recently, he shared his testimony where he grew up from a Hindu family. When he was young, how he was seeking answers to life and searching for the truth. Out of nowhere someone noticed him, a church elder who took time with him, treated him out for a meal and even gave him a bible. Because of elder’s kindness and his curiosity to find truth, he started to read the Bible. P. Moses, eventually came to know Jesus and trusted Him as his Savior and Lord after reading the New Testament. He married a Christian woman and they serve God together in an Indian community here in Fairfax. By God’s grace, after 16 years of prayer, his parents were saved. Praise God!
Last Friday we had ESL potluck luncheon with our students. They brought food. We got to eat some delicious Vietnamese and Hispanic food and played BINGO game with them. Our students in Basic class have made great progress and are able to put together simple sentences.
Currently, I’m tutoring a 2nd grade in reading. His name is Junior. He has a difficult time at school. Heard he goes to the principal 2-3 times a week. Hopefully, my time and support will change his behavior. Pray he will slowly grow to enjoy learning and follow direction at school. Good news is that he is eager to learn to read and is making a good progress. This January we have started the Good News Club again at Colin Powell Elementary. Our God has blessed us with a strong team. Last month I was sharing a mission story (Isobel Kuhn). We were encouraged by how God uses His people from Canada to go all the way to China to share the gospel. God’s work is unstoppable!
In mid-July I plan to go to El Salvador, a Compassion mission trip and do VBS. I’m excited what our God has stored for us through this trip. Will share more next time.
